For Florida families of autistic children

Navigating autism care in Florida is overwhelming.
You don't have to do it alone.

The diagnosis is just the beginning. Then comes the paperwork, the insurance denials, the therapy decisions, and meetings full of words no one explains. Autism Family Support of Florida helps you understand it all, work your insurance and benefits, and walk into every meeting prepared, guided by someone who has been exactly where you are.

When you're drowning in all of it, we help you find the next step

Plain-language help with the parts that trip families up the most, so you understand your options and make the choices that are right for your child.

Make sense of your insurance & bills

Learn to read your EOB (the explanation-of-benefits statement from your insurer, not a bill), understand what you actually owe, and know which questions to ask before you pay a surprise “balance” bill.

Get through the first 90 days

A clear, ordered map for right after a diagnosis: what to do first, what can wait, and how to get through the blitz of intake paperwork for ABA (applied behavior analysis), occupational, and speech therapy without losing your mind.

Understand your therapy options

ABA is usually offered first and can mean many hours a week. Occupational and speech therapy are options too. Understand what each involves (time, cost, and coverage) and the questions to ask, so you decide with your child's care team.

This is general information, not medical advice. Therapy decisions are made with your child's clinicians, and it never says one therapy is better than another.

Know a good clinic when you see one

A straightforward checklist for what a well-run, respectful program actually looks like: the credentials to check, the red flags to watch for, and the questions to ask on a tour.

Hi, I'm Jessica.

I'm a mom of four (my youngest is autistic and non-speaking), so I've lived this system from the inside. I've also spent my career as a patient advocate in a major hospital and medical-supply system, and later worked as a 911 dispatcher, staying calm when other people couldn't.

I'm building Autism Family Support of Florida because families deserve a guide who has lived it and knows how the machinery actually works: someone in your corner who speaks plainly and helps you get your child the support they're entitled to.

Honest about what I can and can't do

What I do

  • Help you understand your paperwork, insurance, and benefits
  • Help you organize your own appeals and applications
  • Prepare you for IEP (individualized education program) meetings, calls, and deadlines
  • Explain your options in plain language, so you can choose

What I don't do

  • Give legal advice or represent you as an attorney
  • Diagnose, treat, or tell you what's medically best
  • Bill your insurance or act for any provider or agency
  • Promise a specific outcome; I help you make the strongest case

That honesty is the point. Knowing exactly where the line is, and who to see for the rest, is part of how I help.
